Took us three hours to get home last night. The main road that runs in front of our house was a disaster and traffic was at a standstill, so all roads on approach were pretty much crawling. We made it to the nursery just before they were due to close, though the staff were in for a late night as there were still a few parents stuck in the snow.
The roads were treacherous but thanks to John's skillful driving and the use of Renata's fantastic 4x4, we made our journey without incident or even a skid. Kyle was thoroughly fed up being stuck in his car seat for too long and after a disappointing dinner of cold quiche straight from the packet, he fell asleep. We made it home just after 8pm and we just put Kyle straight to bed.
Roads are still bad today and -14C forecast for tonight. Hope the gritters and snowploughs are out in force tonight, as I have Christmas shopping to do!
