Nursery update

Kyle went back to nursery on Monday and he was thrilled about it! When we picked him up he was delighted and had obviously had a great day. I think he had been getting bored stuck at home with mummy and daddy! He's really enjoying nursery, he smiles at all the girls who work there and is always happy to go to them for a hug. Clearly we picked the right place as he's really thriving there.

This week he's been doing all sorts of things: gluing a picture (yes just imagine the carnage and attempts to eat everything!), learning actions to songs, playing with noisy toys, splashing with water, messing about with sand, crawling through tunnels, playing in the ball pit and hanging out with the other kids. He's also managed to land himself in the accident book for the fourth time! He's really working on standing and walking. He can stand unaided for a few seconds now, but he then forgets he can't walk and turns around only to find himself hurtling towards the floor. The girls in the nursery keep apologising profusely when he falls, but we know what he's like and how kamikaze he can be, so we're not surprised.

Talking of movement skills, between the baby room which he's in and the toddler room there are some stairs, they are wide and not very steep. Kyle can crawl up these with no problems now, as John found when he went in to pick him up the other day... Kyle spotted his daddy and did his very comical sprinting crawl straight up two of the stairs!

We have our very first parents' night at the nursery on Monday, we're looking forward to finding out in more detail what Kyle has been getting up to and what the nursery have planned for the next few months. We even get his very first report card!
